The dual diploma program offers a great advantage. We received two diplomas, one from ITU, which is one of the most prestigious universities in Turkey, and one from Binghamton University which is in New York State. Thus, it takes you steps forward among other alumni. Besides that, as we have been in the USA for two years, our English skills have also improved.
There are many students who are from different nations at Binghamton University. By becoming friends with them, you can improve both your English and your point of view towards life. In terms of education, you form a strong basis in the field of computers from competent professors at ITU. Thus, when you go to Binghamton University for the 2nd year, you do not feel much strain when you continue on that basis.
My advice to prospective students who would like to choose this program would be that I am sure you will be satisfied with both the program and the department if you follow the courses neatly and in a planned way. A great adventure - half in the USA and half in Turkey - waits for you! When you graduate, without sponsor, you are eligible for OPT (Optional Practical Training) for up to 3 years on condition that you find a job related to your field. As a new graduate, I obtained that and currently I am looking for job opportunities in the USA.
