Making the "right" choices on the academic path is a confusing process for everyone. I believe that choosing the SUNY New Paltz - METU English Language Teaching Dual Diploma Program has been one of the best decisions I've made. Throughout my academic journey, both METU's strong theoretical education and SUNY New Paltz's diverse cultural and academic experiences have provided me with a unique perspective.
Thanks to the courses I took at METU, I built a solid foundation in linguistics, pedagogical methods, and research skills, while my education at SUNY New Paltz offered me the opportunity to apply what I had learned and gain experience in an international academic setting. As a result, upon graduation, I not only became a teacher but also an educator who understands different teaching approaches, is proficient in various fields, possesses intercultural communication skills, and is open to innovation.
One of the most valuable aspects of this program was the enriching experiences and inspiring interactions it provided, beyond just academic achievements. It has been a journey that contributed to both my academic and personal growth, expanding my horizons.
