I did not have an idea of what software was when I graduated from high school. I graduated from Uskudar American High school in 2013 and thanks to my school I chose this program. As I graduate from university, I realize that completing one’s university education in the USA can change a software developer’s whole career.

Actually, you have three options when you graduate (If you have no relatives to do you a favor). First of all, and most desirable option, is that finding a job at a corporate company with regular income. Then, beginning an academic career, that is to say, doing your MA or PhD to do research. Finally, starting up your own business.

SUNY dual diploma programs provide the necessary background for all three of those options. Firstly, if you would like to work at a corporate company, as you may assume, the USA has a great level of volume for software industry compared to anywhere in the world, which provides an innovative environment where you can improve yourself. Secondly, if you have academic career plans, a large amount of funding is allocated for research in the United States. After I graduated, I began doing MA as a research assistant. In other words, my professor’s research budget both pays my tuition fee and my salary so that I can publish papers. If you want to start up your own business, both universities and federal/state government are eager to support small-scale initiatives. There are many different ways to secure funding, networking and mentor programs for your start-up. As the USA is a country which depends on technology, it is easier to get workforce and marketing placements there.
