I graduated from the Anadolu University – SUNY Cortland dual diploma program in 2015. One of my dreams was to study both in the USA and in Turkey. I wanted to experience the college life in both countries. Thus, when I discovered this program, I thought it was the best option for me. You can get the opportunity of experiencing college life in both countries and you also get to know people from different cultures. Furthermore, you graduate with two diplomas which is the greatest advantage of the program.
This program is an advantage for those who aim to study TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). If you ask for the reasons, I can tell you that studying abroad is a must for an English teacher. Therefore, taking two years of your education in the USA at SUNY Cortland brings with it many advantages and adventures. SUNY Cortland is one of the best universities in terms of its Education department. The professors speak more than one foreign language which makes it easy for them to understand and help international students. In short, the professors are able to empathise with the students which is very helpful for those adapting to a new culture. Meanwhile, you can also have the opportunity to do an internship at a school within two years which makes it easy to put in practice what you have learned in theory. If you attend the classess regularly and do your part, there will not be any failure.
In addition to the courses you have at SUNY Cortland, you have the opportunity to join a lot of student clubs. There are also many conferences which, if you attend, you can receive a certificate. SUNY Cortland also provides many sport activities for students who are interested in playing. If you like to study, then you have the opportunity to study on campus. For all of these reasons, you can improve your English in a social atmosphere other than your courses and you can discover many things.
I spent my two years to the fullest. I had the chance of travelling many places. Thanks to the international students I got to know different cultures and made friends. I learned a new language, Spanish. Thanks to my university, I had the chance of attending many conferences both in my field and other fields. In short, you have a lot of opportunities to improve yourself in many ways. If you have a goal to study abroad and receive two diplomas, this program is the best for you
