I chose this program to take advantage of optional practical training, to meet with people from different cultures , gain experience abroad and receive dual diplomas in four years. I want to express my gratitude to my family for all the support they gave to me during my education. Although I had little difficulty in the beginning of my education in the U.S. because of my English level, now I realise that I have made the right decision studying in the U.S. This program played a significant role in improving myself both in cultural and social way.
Although the education system in the U.S. was different from our education system in Turkey, gaining experience in two different systems helped me to study in a more planned and organized way. Taking courses like American History, Cinema and Taekwondo at Binghamton University made a great contribution to my physical and cultural improvement.
My advice to current students studying this program and prospective students who want to choose this program would be not to give up when they experince challenges at preperation class and the years ahead. You will get over it if you study systematically and organizedly and remember as time passes by, you will have the fruits of victory both in your academic and personal life. Studying this program opens door for internship and employment opportunities as well. After graduation, I started to work as a web-designer at a private e-trade company in the United States.
Studying Information Systems dual diploma program at İTU and Binghamton University is one of the most crucial and right decisions. I took in my life. I am proud of being a graduate of both universities.
