I graduated in 2010 from the ITU-SUNY program, Marine Engineering department, at Maritime College.
Throughout my studies, I take pride in successfully completing the program, enriched by different cultures and experiences. During our time in America, we participated in many events and had access to a variety of courses that supported our education and development. I founded the Turkish Club here, allowing local and international students, as well as faculty members, to participate in our events. We also organized many events in cooperation with organizations in the U.S., including those at the Consulate level, providing opportunities for many students to find good career opportunities in the future.
I was offered many job opportunities to stay in the U.S. Following my personal goals, I first completed around 10 years of sea experience on chemical, crude oil, and liquefied gas tankers and obtained my Chief Engineer license for deep-sea vessels. Later, I worked in various senior positions at leading holding companies in Turkey. Currently, with the support provided by this program, I am planning to relocate with my family to Oslo, Norway, to work as a Technical Inspector for a Norwegian-based company.
I hope that, in the future, new students will use this program to become individuals who will contribute to both our country and the world, making us proud by achieving a high level of prosperity.
