Gizem Gencel, TESOL, SUNY New Paltz-METU'15
I am one of the 2015 alumni of the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languagesdual diploma program offered by SUNY New Paltz and METU. It is a great honour to have graduated from these two universities which are known for their quality education and a significant advantage for my professional life with the experience provided by these universities. While METU offers you an opportunity of intensive education with valuable professors and sources in the fields of literature, linguistics and educational science, SUNY New Paltz opens up new horizons with a large range of courses. During my education, thanks to in-class training and internships, I became highly competent in my major and thanks to extracurricular activities I became a versatile individual. Therefore, it was easy to find a job after graduation.
After graduation, to gain experience in my field, I worked as an English teacher for almost a year and now I am pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Liberal Studies at Dartmouth College on a scholarship in the United States.
The valuable education that I got from SUNY New Paltz and METU and the opportunities provided by both schools helped open new doors for me. I am sure this will continue in the future as well
