When I graduated from high school, like many others, I had some idea about a few majors but I hadn’t decided yet on a career.
I found the SUNY dual diploma program in Information System Engineering can be applied to many different career paths, while providing the oppurtunity to study in the U.S. These two factors attracted me to choose this program. Through my university life in Turkey, I made very good friends and important business connections; however, in the U.S. I experienced things that I would never have the chance to experience in Turkey.
Thanks to the opportunities that SUNY provided, such as career advising and help with my job search, I got a job at Microsoft and began working in the Redmond (Seattle) office as soon as I graduated. I worked as a Program Manager for MS Office at Microsoft for 4,5 years, gaining experience and developing a foundation that I could never have dreamed of before choosing to enroll in the DDP.
I returned to Turkey after 5 good years, and founded ÇözenAdam A.Ş. (http://www.cozenadam.com/). The experiences I gained in Seattle combined with the connections I made within my program helped me to start up my own business in Turkey. My goal is to continue my entrepreneurship and create leading internet companies.
Looking back from where I am now, I can see it very clearly that choosing to study at one of the best universities in Turkey and study Information Systems in the U.S had a profound affect in my life.
I strongly recommend this program to students who are willing to dream big and change their lives.
