Aslı Tapucu, Fashion Design, Fashion Institute of Technology - ITU '13
I am a graduate of the Fashion Design Dual Diploma Program. It was challenging, but fun at the same time. When I first went to New York, I had difficulty in getting used to the culture and language, but it became familiar and I learned how to cope with difficulties. After a while, I realized that I became a person who can make her own decisions and set her own targets. Besides studying fashion design, I had the opportunity to study subjects that always attracted me, such as music and dance. The places I visited and the people I met while living in New York broadened my vision.
After graduation, I had the opportunity to complete my internship at well-known companies in the U.S. With the help of my previous experiences and self-confidence, I found a job easily and excelled in my business life. I am now both the creative director and lead designer of the sub-brand of the company I work for and am still open to learning new things. I am becoming more experienced in applying the things that I learned at school to my business and social life. This makes me really happy! I am improving myself continuously.
I am still in touch with my friends in the U.S. and we see each other when I go to New York. I highly recommend everyone to have an experience abroad.
