Begüm Özener, TEFL , SUNY New Paltz-METU’2016
Hello, I am Begüm Özener. I graduated from METU/SUNY New Paltz Department of English Language Teaching and Human-Social Sciences in 2016. I graduated with two diplomas thanks to SUNY Dual Diploma Programs between METU and New Paltz.
I have added a lot to myself with this education I received both in the USA and Turkey. It was a great experience for me to study in two different cultures. The education and internships I received at these two universities contributed greatly to my improvement. Successfully passing the courses offered by two universities made me feel even more proud. Each course brought me many different perspectives. One of the courses I enjoyed most was "Live Theater Experience". It was a great experience for me to go to Broadway Musicals and write articles for the musicals that I was fascinated by.
The friends I made at METU became my family when we lived in the same house in New Paltz. When I first stepped into New Paltz, I started my year wondering if I would be able to do it, and when it ended with the sentence I don't want to go, I felt like I had succeeded. There is something I always say with pride; I am a graduate of METU-SUNY and I am proud of it.
