A Double Honor for the SUNY Dual Diploma Program
The 2026 ITU Maritime Faculty Commencement Ceremony was a memorable occasion for the SUNY Dual Diploma Program.
Yunus Emre Aşkın, Chairman of the Board of the Chamber of Marine Engineers under the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB) and a 2013 graduate of the SUNY-ITU Dual Diploma Program, inspired the graduating class with his opening remarks.
Another highlight of the ceremony was the address delivered by Dolunay Aryaz Bayar, a SUNY Dual Diploma Program student who graduated as the top-ranked student of the ITU Maritime Faculty. Her speech was met with great appreciation from the audience.
With two representatives of the SUNY Dual Diploma Program taking the stage—one delivering the opening remarks and the other addressing the graduating class as the faculty's top-ranked graduate—the ceremony once again showcased the program's academic excellence and the remarkable achievements of its students and graduates.
