All courses in the Dual Diploma Programs are taught in English.

    English Proficiency

Upon registration, students must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency before beginning their education. Students who do not yet have the requisite English proficiency are required to attend and successfully complete an intensive English program (hazırlık) at the relevant Turkish university.

Students must present the the following minimum TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) scores in order to continue with the U.S. component of their education.

The minimum TOEFL requirements vary by program but more information can be found in the “Programs” section of our website.

For some programs these minimum TOEFL scores are required to begin the undergraduate education at the Turkish university while for others these scores are required to continue the U.S. component of the program.

For further information about demonstrating required English proficiency, please visit the web site of each program, available from our links page.

    Intensive English Preparation (Hazırlık)

Upon registration, students who do not yet have the requisite English proficiency are required to attend and successfully complete an intensive English program (hazırlık) at the relevant Turkish university.

Students have a maximum of 2 years to obtain the minimum TOEFL score required.  In the event that a student cannot obtain the minimum score required, the student will be placed into a Turkish-medium program based on their University Entrance Exam score and preference ranking (with the exception of the Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages program). This placement will be done by the Student Placement Center (ÖSYM).
