About the SUNY System


The State University of New York (SUNY) is the largest state university system in the United States.  It is comprised of 64 distinct campuses that include world-renowned institutions such as the Fashion Institute of Technology, to first-rate graduate schools that include the nation’s top veterinary school.  The System’s highly regarded doctoral degree granting universities boast top research programs and attract experts in a variety of fields.

As of 2010:

464,981 students enrolled 

6.688 programs of study

SUNY campuses are home to students from New York State, all other states, and at least 168 countries around the world.
